Thoughts For the Architect

BubbleDeck has been tested thoroughly in Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and North America. Results confirm that BubbleDeck behaves like a solid slab in every way. Test reports can be obtained be either visiting the Download page or contacting the BubbleDeck Group.

  • BubbleDeck is a light, biaxial, flat slab technology.

    Light

    The hollow spheres incorporated in the slab reduce the dead weight by up to 35% compared to a solid slab with same bearing capacity.

    This weight reduction allows for further reductions in the building structure, through reduction in or of columns and bearing walls.

    The reduction in dead weight results in savings in the foundation.

    The theoretical value is 0.65. For safety reason, it is recommended to use a factor of 0.6 compared to values of a solid slab of same height.

Due to its lightness and biaxiality, BubbleDeck can achieve extraordinary spans - not only in one, but in all directions, without beams. As a rule, a BubbleDeck can span 20 to 40 times the deck thickness. With integration of PT cables, which fit easily in the slab, spans of 50 times the deck thickness is possible.
